Top Shelfie: Mia-Clare Cox
"My everyday routine is a fluid altar I arrange in the name of Perfection."
Welcome back to Health Gossip Top Shelfies, a series peeking into the medicine cabinets, vitamin shelves, and beauty rituals of our dear community.
This week, we’re hearing from Mia-Clare, a mystery reader who lives in West Brisbane, Australia.
Who are you?
My name is Mia-Clare, @miamarioncox. I spend everyday meditating on the bliss of being unemployed in a beautiful corner of the world (Magandjin/Brisbane). Life is gorgeously simple.
My everyday routine is a fluid altar I arrange in the name of Perfection. Perfect food, perfect sleep, perfect company, perfect passion, perfect prayer, perfect drama. God breathes euphoria into my every cell. Everything is steeped in a pleasant brew.
On the daily I enjoy flirting with my boyfriend in every aisle of our neighborhood organic store (flawless divinatory tool to ascertain what we both want to cook and eat, by the way), opportunistic midday sunbathing sessions, and contorting myself into euphorically painful Yogic shapes as often as needed.
How would you describe your approach to beauty and wellness?
I’m increasingly inclined to forego convenience and slip into the confines of seasonability. I was treated to homegrown tropical produce while visiting Gimuy country/Cairns recently and it’s changed the game for me. Complete overhaul of my food preferences and ethics. From here on out I’ll be geared towards local food. Local everything.
Letting tea marinate in the sunshine is a good one. Intuitive fasting, too. Laying naked in the sun and mulling it all over. Et cetera…
What are some of your must-haves?
Having a comedically inclined überbabe for a boyfriend is my best-kept beauty secret. Good, bushy weed remains a reliable conduit for sending to the garden within. I am expanding my selection of oils so that I may anoint myself and anyone willing and within reach as I please.
Any health or beauty secrets you swear by?
Letting herbal tea marinate in the sunshine is a good one. Intuitive fasting too. Laying naked in the sun and mulling it all over. Recognizing when somebody is trying to possess me against my will…
What’s on your wishlist?
Whatever God wills for me. And the stock kit of 71 essences from Australian Bush Flower Essences ($845).
